Technical guidelines & Procedural Considerations for using our polyurethane rollers :

1. Lower Pressure, Lower Broken Rice: Our polyurethane rollers allow for husking at 50–70% pressure compared to traditional rubber rollers, which leads to a significant reduction in broken rice. This lower pressure helps minimize stress on the rice grains, contributing to a higher yield of whole rice.

 

2. Do Not Alter Pressure: Please do not increase pressure even If you observe that husking is low at the start, please allow approximately 30 minutes for the rollers to stabilize and reach optimal performance. It is important to maintain this consistent pressure throughout the entire life of the roller. For achieving the best possible broken rice savings, we recommend removing the roller before it is completely worn out.

3. BUHLER Machine Pressure Setting: For Buhler machines where a pressure gauge is not visible, you should set the current (amperes) instead. Begin by measuring the no-load current of the motor. Then, gradually increase the current just enough to match half the husking pressure that would typically be used for traditional rubber rollers. This method ensures correct husking performance without causing excessive wear on the rollers.

4. Bolt Locking – Use of Nord-Lock Washers: All four bolts securing the rollers must be tightened using Nord-Lock’s wedge-locking washers. We will provide 08 washers free of charge per machine for the first time that can be reused for a very long period of time. It is designed to ensure secure locking, preventing any loosening during operation.

5. Alucore Reusability & Return Credit: Our Alucore core is meticulously machined and dynamically balanced to within 5 grams, making it highly reusable. We offer a credit or payment of ₹1,000/- per returned core, encouraging their return for recycling and reuse.

6. Coupling Alignment is Crucial: Our rollers are precisely matched in length and perfectly aligned as a pair. Both coupling in a straight line is must. This will avoid collars on the edge of roller and increase the efficiency and roller lifespan.

7. Do Not Mix with Rubber Rollers: Our polyurethane rollers should never be used in conjunction with conventional rubber rollers. Rubber rollers differ significantly in dimensions, hardness, machining, and dynamic balance from our polyurethane rollers. Using them together can lead to serious performance issues, compromise the efficiency of the husking process, and potentially damage both types of rollers.

8.Role of Mechanics: Mechanics must clearly understand the significance of maintaining the correct pressure. Consistently operating within the recommended pressure range will enhance dehusking quality, Reduces broken rice output and Extended operational lifespan of our PU rollers.

We strongly recommend implementing regular and structured training programs for both machine operators and Mechanics.

Pre-installation checklist for the rollers :

1. Before installation, it is essential to ensure that the machine has no excess vibration or torque load.

2. First, run the motor without installing the rollers. Use a vibration meter in the husking zone to verify the base condition.

3. After confirming smooth operation, install both rollers and check for any abnormal vibration again.

4. Before installation, please ensure that the coupling diameter is not less than 115.8 mm and not more than 115.95 mm. Additionally, it is crucial that the coupling faces of both the fast and slow shafts are in a straight line to ensure proper fit and operation.

5. All four bolts must be securely fastened using the Nord-Lock Wedge Washers supplied by us. This is essential to ensure proper operation, prevent loosening due to vibration.
